(A)  Registered Migration Agent

Francis Lau is a Registered Migration Agent. With his legal background, one of his strength is in the business visa. In accordance with the statistics of Migration Registration Authority, only 30% of the Registered Migration Agents are lawyers.

  • Francis Lau is a Registered Migration Agent; as he is also a lawyer, he is able to give you legal advice on investment visas. You will be able to know the appropriate type of business structure with the related tax implication, which best suits your situation. He is also able to give you advice on property conveyancing and leasing, business purchases and employment contracts. This is almost an all-in-one service.

  • Francis has the first profession as a company secretary. He is well versed with company formation and maintenance. He is able to form a company which best suits your situation. He is able to draft for you the constitution and the rules of your company.

  • Francis is able to draft special wills for parents who have kids with special needs, eg, Autistic. Those parents may not know how to provide for their kids’ future after they are deceased. At present, Centrelink will give the kid disability payments even though the kid has legacies from their parents, when the asset threshold is met and some legal arrangements are in place. That means, the kid would have Centrelink payments as well as income from the parents’ legacies.

  • For parents who are successful in business or have accumulated wealth after years of their fruitful work, they may not know how to protect their assets for the family’s future. Family discretionary trust is a legal structure which may cater for their purpose in this respect.

What can you do first when you get a penalty notice for a traffic offence?

Surf at the website of State Debt Recovery Office and read the “SDRO Review Guidelines”. For some traffic offences like parking and red light camera, if you have 10 year clear driving record, your penalty may be waived but a caution will be recorded.
